Coldplay

Great show. The music really sounded great live. If you just sit down and listen to the new album, it can be a little dreary and monotone. But live, it really came off well. The stage show was very modern and artistic. The singer was funny and charming and interacted really well with the audience. Go see them if you get the chance. My gut feeling is that these guys are the next U2. Legends in the making.

Coldplay played the tunes pretty much the same as they are arranged on the album. This is the complete, 180 degree opposite of DMB (who we're seeing next weekend). Dave manages to turn little tunes into 20 minute jams. Two different presentations... both excellent in their own way. We'll see Dave both nights and will likely not hear the same some twice. I suspect that with Coldplay, you wouldn't want to see them two nights back-to-back because I have a feeling that the set list they played is "their show." They might mix it up a little bit, but not much. Regardless, it was a terrific show.

Tonight is Pageant of the Masters. More about that tomorrow.
